I ordered Rain-X Latitude Premium Graphite Coated Wiper Blade – 24″ and 21″ for my Honda Odyssey base on Consumer Reports recommends a mouth ago. The first day after I put them on, I drove in drizzle on the highway. There was a lot of mud on the windshield. The wipers did not wipe the windshield clearly as the cheaper new traditional wipe did. There were fine lines left on the windshield. I thought that there was not enough rain to wash the mud. So I washed the wiper and the windshield when I got home. But I was wrong! I drove in a heavy rain next day, and the fine lines still stay on the windshield. As the new wiper it should wipe the windshield crystal clear.

Let us see how long the wipers can last for.

      update on 12-26-2009

I have to replace both wipers with same brand wiprers today because I almost could see anything during driving in snow-rain weather last night. My Rain-X Latitude Premium Graphite Coated Wiper Blade last about 5 months (7-22-2009 to 12-25-2009)

      update on the 12-27-2009

The new pair of wipers wiped the windshield crystal clear when I drove in a light-rain yesterday. It looks like the quality got improved.

I live in Seattle where it rains alot. These have to be the most overrated wipers there are. In the past I have bought the cheapy wipers and they did an ok job but needed to be replaced often. So, I thought I would get these as they promised wonders in the field of windshield wiping. Not the case what-so-ever. These things are horrid and I am going to purchase a pair of cheap wipers today. The latitude wipers leave a ton of streaks that you cannot fix. I washed my car, clay barred my windshield, and even took a razor blade to the windshield to clear it of any gunk…still streaky. Dont buy them, they suck.

Reading some of the other reviews, I think some people are installing these incorrectly. The symptoms they describe sound like the first set I bought, which was for my girlfriend’s 2008 Nissan Rogue. When I installed the driver’s side wiper (the longer of the two) it didn’t make good contact with the windshield and would have left huge streaks. There is a way to adjust how the wiper sits by fiddling with the mount. Once I did that (per the included instructions), it worked like a champ. I just put a pair on my 2010 Xterra, and didn’t have to do anything special…they worked great from the start. It sometimes pays to read the instructions.

As far as the blades scratching the windshield, the only thing I can think of that would cause that to happen is if they forgot to take the plastic cover off the blade. I can’t see how someone might do that, but the blade itself is pretty flexible, so I have no idea how it could scratch auto glass.

For me, these have been great, and the price on Amazon is very reasonable. I think I saved about $6 per blade by not getting them at the local auto parts store. I think this should be one of the items that Amazon lets you “Subscribe” to, so you could have them delivered every six months or so. That would certainly help me to remember to change my wiper blades!

I live in rainy Northern California, where the wipers not only have to stand up to lots of rain, but mold can be a problem too. My Stock wipers were no good after only one rainy season, so I replaced them with Rain-x Latitude wipers. They do a great job. You can tell they make full contact across their entire length, so there are no streaks. They are even able to wipe off the thin mist than can form on the outside of the windshield when it is cold. I’ve had them for 9 months now and they have held up well and do not show any signs of mold either.
