Ease,
The ability to snag the end of the oil filter with my socket is priceless. Use these on all four of our cars and cuts down oil change times by quite a bit. Any Honda owner knows they hide the filter to make sure you donate blood while attempting to remove it. With the piece on the end, just ratchet it off! Never a leak. Always runs for a full year, usually 6-8000 miles before change out. Combine it with superior synthetic oil, no problems. I usually order 4-5 at a time as price does go up and down.

|Excellent oil filter….but get it at Amazon!,
Both my wife’s 2006 Rav4 and my 2009 Yaris use the 1003 oil filter. I made the switch to synthetic oil about 4 years ago and have saved a ton of money. I used to get oil changes every 3K miles. I also used get my oil changes at Wallymart but their totally incompetent workers finally convinced me that a blind monkey could do a better job!
Anyway…this is a great filter. As you probably have read from the other reviews, the nut that is welded on the top (or bottom) of the filter makes it so easy to remove when you do your oil changes.
I am of the mind that you can go 10 – 12K on synthetic oil with one of these filters. The extended oil drain theory works and saves you a lot of money. I hear some people change out the oil filter every 6K, but when you pay $10 for a filter….that gets a little expensive.
I usually buy my oil at Wallymart or Advance Auto. AA has some good deals….sometime when they run out of the free filters they give you when you buy 5 qts. of oil, they will substitute a K&N filter. So its a really good deal then!
So use the product with confidence! Especially if you do the work yourself.

|Finally!!,
Finally a filter that I can take off with ease. I drive a 07 scion tc and it’s so much of a hassle and fight to get the regular oil filters out. My car is cramped with the liner getting in my way and with me having big hands once I get my hands in I have little to no leverage at all and can barely turn the damn oil filter with it on so tight. So finally with the K&N I breeze through the oil change. The price doesn’t bother me because I rather spend $10 then to wrestle with an oil filter under my car. I already have an extra one already and I’m going to order another one to go with another purchase I’m making on amazon so I don’t have to pay shipping, fantastic!
